I am a feminist scholar of literary and cultural studies and my teaching is informed by my personal political commitment to attending to how the vectors of race and gender shape both the objects I study and the world we live in. Thus, as an instructor I have three primary goals: pushing my students to engage with the world outside of the classroom, promoting critical thinking, and cultivating enthusiasm for the material.
Courses Taught:
- Writing Sex: Contemporary Black Women Writers
- Black Feminism(s)
- Introduction to Afro-American Studies
- Black Arts Matter: Black Women Performers and Politics
