SaraEllen Strongman is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan. She was previously an LSA Collegiate Fellow in the department for AY 2018-2020. SaraEllen researches and teaches in the fields of Black Feminism, African American literature, and Gender and Sexuality Studies. SaraEllen received her Ph.D. in Africana Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
